Random bits I want to share now
GHANA SONGDuring May 2014, this is part of a song I wrote this song with Jesse Bateson, Molly Honer and Milly Roberts, which will hopefully be recorded sometime. It is a reaction to our experiences in Ghana. We pieced it together by taking lines from poems I had written out there and other lines we thought to include.
IMMIGRANT SONGThis is a photograph I found on National Geographic that has been the core inspiration for a lot of my writing and what I've been working on. The colours, light, the little we know about the mother and daughter and the amount we can read from the positioning and division between them.
I've been very heavily into writing about London and housing at the moment and this photo has been a strong stimulus for me all year regarding any work I make about it. FEBRUARY 2014 QUOTESDuring an English Mock Exam Gavin said the first one and I found it funny, if you know Macbeth. We shouldn't have been talking but yeah.
Simon, one of my teachers at BRIT, said the second quote during a rehearsal about a piece of physical theatre about World War One. You could interpret that he is commenting on not only the people arrangement of the show, but the hierarchal arrangement of women during World War One. |
EAVESDROPPING ON THE 468One bus journey in March 2014, I overheard a woman on the phone and this is what I found out about her. Eavesdropping is something everyone does but she was so interesting and was discussing some really interesting things that I wanted to capture. What I captured from her was parts of what could be a character. Maybe it'll inspire you?
QUOTECAITLIN MORAN - HOW TO BE A WOMANI read this book in 2014 and found that I understood and could resonate with a lot of things she was talking about. Others I could not and I was critical of the angle she was writing from, but overall I found it an enjoyable read. Easy. And for me it can get difficult to get through books.
